As of January 1 2025, I'm shuttering everything related to Mike Upton Photography. This decision did not come lightly, and it still hurts a bit because it was a huge part of who I was for so long. I shot hundreds of weddings, corporate events, portraits, landscapes, cities, you name it. It took me places I never thought I would go. But after a while, my heart wasn't in it anymore. I couldn't engage with the photography community the way I used to. I couldn't stomach booking new family portrait sessions, even if they were family. Every business has a limited wick and mine simply burned out.

I'm not giving up on photography, however. Just shifting phases. Mike Upton Photography was my first form, as it were. Any photography I do is going under the Bright Suns name from here on out. And the type of photography I do is going to be dictated by me, what I like to photograph and only when and what I want. The sun has set on Mike Upton Photography. But it is just rising for Bright Suns Media.

So long, MikeUptonPhoto. You were exactly what I needed when I needed you. And I'll forever have that little blue camera icon tattooed on my heart.
